It's no secret that among older Western men, we Filipinas rank high in the list of "wife material" nationalities. There's a reason for this. Despite being heavily influenced by the United States, Filipinas tend to hold values that make them traditional wives.

* Family-oriented

By family-oriented, we mean that most Filipina wives do not easily give up on their marriages. Most Filipinos tend to marry for life, and it's not unusual to find couples celebrating their 30th or 50th wedding anniversary, despite having gone through some marital crises.

A strong Catholic upbringing also means that Filipinas are brought up to be loyal and faithful to their husbands, and grateful to their parents. Take note of the latter when you decide on meeting a Filipina. You can endear yourself to her by showing as much respect to her parents as she does.

* Emphasis on smooth relationships

Filipinos tend to be the non-confrontational types and do not like to fight, and this tends to extend to their marriages. Filipina wives tend to stretch themselves so they don't get into fights with their husbands.

And when you do get into a fight, Filipinas will go out of their way to avoid any direct confrontation. In case when she's extremely upset, you can expect your wife to be sobbing or give you the silent treatment, but never get "in your face."

Don't be surprised if upon seeing a few Filipinas, you will find one who looks very Chinese, Spanish or even American. Over the centuries, other nationalities have intermarried with Filipinos, so it's not surprising to note that Filipinas are hailed for their exotic beauty.
