Blogs and forums along with articles help get links to your site. This brings up the next traffic technique which is search engine optimization. The goal here it to get your web pages to show up on the first page of Google, Yahoo or Msn. Keyword research is critical here. If you employ someone to do this for you be careful. There are a lot of companies who promise the world and end up delivering dirt.

You can submit your site to directories. I have not got much traffic from this technique, but I have improved my search engine listings. Once again this technique is more of a long term method that helps with your search engine campaign.

Classified ads. I at first thought this technique was not very effective but it actually is if you set it up right. Again I will go into this in more detail on another article. But it does work and it can actually bring sales and it also helps with your search results. Now with that said avoid those promoters who will blast your ad out to thousands of directories and classified ad websites. If it were that easy all of us would be on the beach right now having a beer.

Press release. This can be very effective. The reason for this is that Press release sites are picked up by the likes of Google news and you can a lot of traffic if you show up there. You can pay for this service or you can write it yourself and submit it this depends on your budget - but be advised it does work if done correctly.

Pay per click. This technique is very effective if time and research is put into developing your campaign. You have to think outside the box here. What I mean by the box, is your own thinking. You need to go to forums relative to your market and see what people are looking for. You need to do a lot of keyword research. When starting out you want to go after extremely targeted keywords. Have a budget for this and just like when you go to Vegas have some money that you are prepared to lose. But don't be reckless just because you can lose it, we really don't want to.
