One of the main reasons that most people fail at affiliate marketing is that they don't think big enough. They don't understand the size of the internet. The number one mistake that new affiliate marketers make is to get caught up in worrying about the price point of the product they're going to promote. Let's say the product sells for $17 and you make a 50% commission off of each sale. That means every time you sell one, you'll make $8.50.

The first thought that comes to most minds is - WOW! I'm going to have to sell thousands of those if I want to make a living. That's impossible! But here's the thing - you just need to calm down and think big.

You're not selling your wares to the 10 or 15 people who walk into your "shop" every day. You're making your product available to millions of people. And you don't have to stop with one product. You can set up dozens, or even hundreds of websites. All selling different products, at different price points and different levels of competition.

It's called diversifying and that's how successful affiliate marketers make their income. Most successful webmaster have hundreds of websites, running on autopilot, each earning a different level of income and profit.

Yes, if you only have one website you're going to have to sell thousands of that one specific product - and that will be almost impossible. When you look at your local brick and mortar shops you won't find a single one that only carries one item. But if you have several websites, promoting several products, you can spread your income out over all of your sites and your goals will be much less daunting and much easier to reach.

The key is to think big and have a plan. Once you find something that works, stick with it and, as the saying goes, rinse and repeat. You'll soon have your own affiliate marketing empire and be earning more money than you ever though possible.
