Affiliate Marketing - Must-Dos For a Successful Affiliate Campaign

Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to generate an income online. You don't have to create a product or set up a back office to handle shipments, customer complaints, etc. The cost of getting into business is minimal, but the workload is the same. There is a lot to do to become successful. It begins by starting right in the first place.

What most affiliate marketers do:

  1. Find a red-hot niche with hungry customers.
  2. Find a product that in that niche that customers are hungry for.
  3. Set up a website to sell that product.
  4. Rush out to buy pay-per-click listings or Google AdWords to promote that website or start an article marketing campaign.
  5. Go find another red hot niche with hungry customers to sell to.

Now on the surface you'd say, what's wrong with that? It's a good plan, but it's not a great plan for a successful affiliate marketing campaign. You will make money doing it this way, but there's a better way.

A more successful affiliate marketing campaign:

  1. Find a red-hot market with hungry customers.
  2. Find a product within that market that customers are hungry for.
  3. Set up a website to sell that product and collect names and e-mail addresses.
  4. Rush out to buy pay-per-click listings or Google AdWords to promote your website or start an article marketing campaign.
  5. Find additional products in your red-hot market to sell to your list.
  6. Find another red-hot market and repeat.

Do you see the difference here? If you start out with a red-hot market instead of a red-hot niche, you'll have more opportunity to sell more products to your list. Once you have customers that have bought products from you, why not offer them products in the same market instead of moving on the find another niche?

You will normally sell around 2-3% or visitors to your website. If you are collecting names and email addresses, you will have more opportunity to sell products to your list. That's what makes affiliate marketing so lucrative. Your affiliate marketing campaign should give you multiple opportunities to sell products or services.

The amount of work it takes to be successful in affiliate marketing is the same, no matter which approach you take. Your goal should be to get the most out of your work by leveraging your results. In this way you can become a super affiliate and put your sales on steroids.

Take a hard look at your affiliate program. Are you getting the results you want? Is your program on life support? Are you collecting names and e-mail addresses? Do you need to tweak your program or start over?
