When I first got interested in online marketing I went head first and bought everything. It really did cost a lot and in hindsight I wished had taken my time originally and did some research.

So what should you be looking for when learning about online marketing?

1: Having the right mindset and belief in yourself to start such a project
2: How to develop a Website or Blog
3: Where to find products to market
4: How to use SEO and keywords most effectively on your site and in your articles
5: Traffic: How to get people to visit your website.
6: How to use an autoresponder and make a great mailing list of clients for future sales

That's quite a list but don't be overwhelmed. The important thing to remember here is that to be successful in any endeavor you need to be motivated. You need to have the right mindset and belief in your own ability. Once you have this in place all these other factors will fall in place.

Expect to make mistakes and be willing to learn from them. One example that comes to mind about the kinds of mistakes many people make when starting their online marketing career is once they get possible clients to visit their websites (which really is the hardest thing to do!) they don't sell the item. Look you want to send you clients to your affiliates buying page, but before you do this you must sell the item to them. Explain why it is so good and why they need it. Once you've done this there is a very good chance of a sale.

Online affiliate marketing is a very inexpensive way to create a great online business. Get the basics right, be willing to learn from your mistakes and you will be successful.
