Abs Exercises - The Basics of True Abdominal Workouts

There is a lot of unfortunate misinformation campaign going on about abs exercises these days. While I don't want to get into the origins and reasons behind it, it is highly disturbing to see that abdominal workouts are branded as being ineffective in burning stomach fat. Let us blowup the ash clinker from over the burning charcoal and give truth its legitimate position.

  • There is no exercise or workout conceived till date that doesn't burn body fat; some may burn less but they still do it.
  • Abs exercises work the same way squats or bicep-curls do- they simultaneously stress and strain the muscles and fat layers in predetermined motions.
  • If muscles, which lie underneath layers of fat, get hypertrophied (enlarged) as a result of abdominal workouts, there is no way you can leave out the fat layer from benefiting.
  • While no exercise in this world directly enlarges muscles, all of them help burn fat as a direct consequence of increased metabolism, raised body temperature and exhaustion.

True, abs exercises don't work like magical waves to flatten out stomachs in a jiffy. They work in their natural progressive way in reducing fat and hardening muscles if you forget the dietary part of this dynamics for a while.

You must be choosy diligent with your choice of abdominal exercises and diets for fast results. Remember to choose your exercises to match your present status as each of them are designed for different results so must be done at different stages of your progression.
