Ginger's sad brown eyes were begging to join us for Sunday Brunch. It was as if she knew her invitation was only a "Dogs Allowed" mouse click away. Being extremely casual, we were not up to "see and be seen" so we also opted for "come as you are". Up popped Abel's on the Lake: pet friendly, brunch, $3 Mimosas, plus a beautiful view of Lady Bird Lake...sounds like a perfect match! Out came the leash, and evidenced by the moment of frenzy that ensued, she knew her pitiful display had met its mark. When we arrived, Labrador in tow - or should I say, towing US - we were met with friendly staff that put us right at the decks edge.

We could even keep up with Nadal on the big HD flatscreens. We ordered blueberry Belgian Waffles, Mimosas, Divorced Eggs (two eggs over easy on a tortilla, one topped with green sauce and one with red), and proceeded to enjoy the randomly cool weather and thankfully relaxed atmosphere. Abel's on the Lake is developing into a nice little option for waterside dining, and with fun stuff like $5 burgers during Monday Night Football, we think it's a winner. Plus, their rooftop deck is near completion and we can't wait to find a spot to sit, sip, snack and sun on a lazy afternoon with our best friend at our side.
