Some one rightly said "abs are made in the kitchen." This statement couldn't be truer as the food intake and nourishment are the basic factors that contribute to the six pack abs. The accumulated layers of fat around the waist are an indication of negligence and a precursor to the onset of various diseases. These can be done in sets of two or three.
Another rather tough workout is called the Jack-knife. For this workout one requires a strong lower back. Lie on your back on the floor and lift your legs and your upper body concurrently in an effort to touch your toes. Hold for a count of three seconds. Relax and repeat.

The bicycle crunch is one of the easier ones where you lie in your back with knees raised off the floor. Now start cycling like you are on a pleasant ride on your cycle through a wonderfully scenic route. Take breaks in between so as to give you more strength when you star again.
The Windshield Wipers are performed when you lie on the back with both legs at right angles to your torso. Now swing your legs all the way to the left and then to the right exactly like the wipers of a car. This will give you one rep. Do this as much as ten times, ensuring that your hips are firmly on the floor.
Whatever workout you do, remember to keep track of your progress on a daily basis. Don't worry if you can't see the results right away. By working the abdominal muscles on a regular basis, you are making them stronger and shaping them. So when you lose the fat content around your abdomen, those six pack abs will really show. But as mentioned earlier, a sensible diet is essential. This advice combined with a couple of warm up exercises in addition to the ab workouts will soon yield the results you have been working towards. You will see that you are beginning to look good.
