For you to have a successful school year it starts with having a successful hour. If you can have 24 consecutive successful hours you can have a successful day. Seven successful days will produce a successful week. If you can put 52 good weeks together, you will have a successful year. But the root to your successful year begins with what? "A successful HOUR".
Here are 5 things you can do to have a productive hour.
1. Recognize the importance and value of 60 minutes. Time cannot be regained once it's lost or misused. However the well use of time can produce a day of joy and sense of accomplishment.
2. Detail and plan EVERY minute of your hour. Have you ever thought about how many pages you can read in a book in 60 minutes? Have you considered how much studying can be accomplished in one hour. Allocate a to-do item for every minute in your hour. Then stick to it.
3. Identify Time Wasters and alleviate them. What acts in your day are stealing your time and making your day unfruitful. Is it Tv? daydreaming? certain people? the internet? Whatever it may be, make the adjustment and either cancel it, or schedule it on purpose in your hourly schedule.
4. Stay focused on hourly agendas that you have purposefully set. If you plan to study, study! If you plan to to be in class, be fully attentive in class. If you plan to socialize, socialize. Whatever you plan to do in the hour, apply discipline and focus to stick with it.
5. Win at the present hour. Perform the previous 4 steps for the present hour. Then do the same for the next 23 hours.
Play your "A" Game and have successful school year by first having a successful hour.
