The term obesity means accumulation and continuous increase of carbohydrate levels in the body. The most common known cause of obesity is a large intake of carbohydrates with low excretion mechanisms; this is termed as over-consumption of carbohydrates, and lack or little exercise.
Gender also plays a role here as male individuals tend to have a higher metabolic rate than their female counterparts. This means that women are more prone to obesity than a male if they don't exercise regularly.
The type of work also has an influence on obesity as research has suggested that those who engage in physical activity as part of their work are better placed to fight obesity that those who work with less usage of their muscles. Therefore, a mechanical engineer is termed safer in contrast to a secretary. If a person has a sedentary job is even more important to do some kind of exercise, even something as simple as a walk is going to help.
Illness may also lead to gaining weight as the level of activity is reduced. Alcohol and beer never pass out on a topic of weight. Intakes of spirits, which is distilled instead of fermented, can lead to weight loss while too much intake of beer can lead to obesity as beer is a large carbohydrate product.
It is a general rule that when one gets older, the body's metabolic rates slow down and this leads to obesity if not well monitored and taken care of. Current studies have also revealed that obesity can be due to genetic disorders. This is due to genetic insufficiency or lack of certain components that control weight; therefore the victims of this are going to find much harder to lose weight.
