A Quick Rundown of Hyundai

The Hyundai Engine Company can be a division from the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group. Its largest manufacturing plant can be seen in Ulsan, South Korea and creates over 1.6 million vehicles annually.

Hyundai translates as "modernity" and is pronounced "Hyondae" in Korean. The business logo, a slanted, stylized letter H symbolizes the company shaking hands with its clients. Its early beginnings started out with Chung Ju-Yung's establishment in the Hyundai Engineering and Construction Business. It was bombed mere months later on throughout the Korean war, but the business returned on its feet in the 50s to be distinguished as Korea's leading construction enterprise. By 1960, Chung shifted his attention towards the automobile sector and founded the Hyundai Motor Company in 1967.

It established an alliance with Ford in a two-year contract to share assembly technologies. It was then that the partnership with Ford that Hyundai gave birth to its primary auto, the Cortina, which made its debut in 1974, and the firm started out exporting it overseas.

Hyundai entered the US market with its subcompact Excel design which was a direct hit because of its inexpensive price tag. By 1988, Hyundai used its own technology to produce its automobiles, and that is where the Sonata was released. Even so, attributable to poor durability and reliability of its cars, the company's image as tarnished and sales hit an all time low. Hyundai didn't abandon the American market place despite of this situation. The firm then chose to invest in new item designs, good quality and reliability. This decision paid back as Hyundai's sales increased sharply in the next several years. Even though their lineup is much smaller than other car manufacturers, the business gains revenue via Kia, another Korean automobile manufacturer, which it acquired in 1998. Nowadays, Hyunda is well-known for generating automobiles that provide high quality at very affordable prices.
