A Pro Gold Making Tip For Jewelcrafters

Expert Author James R DuClos

Gold making tips from a hard farming troll trying to feed his troll babies:

I used to spend quite a bit of time wandering Org and spamming "LFW 450 Jewelcrafter!." Sometimes it was good gold, sometime it took to long and I fell asleep on my keyboard. I found a new way to do this though, a more work concentrated, less time consuming way to use my jewel crafting to make gold.

Starting out Poor:

I started watching the horde auction house and keeping tabs of prices or Ore and cut/uncut gems. I didn't have much gold so I started low and started buying un-cut Autumn's Glow gems and cutting them into Thick Autumn's Glow. I also found cutting Scarlet Rubies into Runed Scarlet Rubies. It was decent gold, definitely worth my time, and a lot better than spamming trade chat for hours to make a hard coin.

Take a chance at wow investments:

I knew my plan was working at this point. I still didn't have much gold, but I was definitely making some coin. I finally had a few bucks to invest buying un-cut gems. I researched prices, looked at the prices of Un-cut blue gems and compared them to cut gems, like Bold Scarlet Ruby's and Monarch Topaz gems. Turns out the prices were pretty steady and I was already making the best gold I could cutting blue gems with Thick Autumn's Glow and Scarlet Ruby's.

I said, "Hey, why not" and started buying and cutting epic gems. I didn't have much gold to move a lot of volume, but I was making more gold for less time. I looked at them all and finally got enough Dalaran Jewelcrafter Tokens to buy the pattern that was most profitable for me. I started on Thick King's Amber.

"I watched the auction house prices closely."

I would buy the uncut King's Amber when it was low enough for me to make a decent profit after posting and AH fees. I would do my best to buy them under or at 80g because I knew that was the point where I'd make good coin. I'd cut them and post the cut gem for 100-120g depending on the time and market when I posted them.

In short I was able to make 20-40 gold (per cut) on a good post cutting epic gems. Just on the AH and without spamming. It takes less time, and it pays as well or better.
