A Mosque on Or Around Ground Zero, From the Meaning to Hype Associated With It!

At the heart of the hype, in the midst of US Constitutional framework, above and beyond prevalent heartbreaking emotions associated to 9/11 victims and circumstances, one thing remains obvious, at least openly, officially, bluntly Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and his group named that mosque Cordoba, declaring that "the period between roughly 800 and 1200 CE, when the Cordoba Caliphate ruled much of today's Spain, and its name reminds us that Muslims created what was, in its era, the most enlightened, pluralistic, and tolerant society on earth."

In Islam too, symbolism carries a lot of its purported emotional, spiritual and moral density...a call to truth, reality and blessing... In other words, referring to the question above, "What is the exact meaning of "mosque?"...

Two ways to understand the answers to that question:

1. Those who analyze and interpret from the inside: Islam, the final revealed religion to mankind, and we followers by conviction, see the mosque as a place of worship in peace and mutual love regardless of race and creed; and unfortunately

2. Those who stigmatize and infer from the outside with a much more leaning and siding towards equating mainstream Islam with an off-track approach to fundamentalism... drawing from sensual news and phobia doubled with fear mongering tactics to a religion which is named, in Arabic wording as Peace!

Remember: in Islam too, symbolism carries a lot of its purported emotional, spiritual and moral density...a call to truth, reality and blessing...

Of the two answers depending on where we chose to stand, we can see that mosque as a healing component through one of the Nation's most highly humane-embracing ideals of social justice, wisdom, courage and freedom of choice as never before outlined and guaranteed by the First Amendment (one of the nation's fundamental normative and cultural symbols).

All the media bias at stake, to date, tend to make it wrong for anything that does not purport interest groups' options or a supposed American ethics and dream... that's the enslavement culture that is responsible of such a facet of the media in the US...

Chances are if it's not positively echoed by some news icon, then it's wrong and void... Detaching oneself (which is AS HARD AS I bet) from that nonsense of media bias only can help grasp the true meaning of the Mosque by Ground Zero premises... A transcendental answer of Islam to a troubled time of our memories in a New day of forgiveness and healing... Amen.
