A Man Who Made a Difference to the Nation As a Whole

Just like any other war, there are many theories that are being chewed upon when discussing the end of the cold war. There are many historians who state that one particular reason or the other was why Russia lost the cold war, but what did happen and how did Russia lose the cold war is something that no one can really point a finger to.

Call it red-tapism or better protection of facts and secrets that brought about the end of a very long war, but still the answer to the above mentioned question never seems to be answered. Gorbachev was also noted for saying that the country was being broken during the reign of Stalin and people lacked the freedom to do anything during that time. He had also stated that he was ashamed for his country because this was a land that was rich with earth's richness but as a country they could not even provide for the basic amenities of its own people.

As a leader, Gorbachev was able to influence many countries and also form allegiances with them. By the end if his tenure, people cared less about why Russia lost the cold war, rather started talking about how great a country it had become.
