One of the toughest and most competitive markets in the auto industry is the luxury market. Competition is intense and most car makers already have at least one car in this market. Infiniti's M56 is competing with the best of the best including Mercedes Benz, BMW, Lexus and Audi. Infiniti's older model M56 was formally known as the M45 and did not fare very well in this market. Again, this is one cramped niche and Infiniti did set the M45 apart from the rest of the pack, but that has all changed with the new M56.
In the past, Infiniti's largest and most powerful luxury sedan was overlooked by the more powerful G35 and G37. The M56 has been tightened and buttoned up, it now has the look and the power the Germans are renowened for, and Infiniti has also manufactured a robust V-8 engine worthy of its German rivals. With an impressive 420 hp available the M56 surpasses the 60mph mark in a mere 4.7 seconds. For comparison last year's model took almost a full second longer to reach a 60 mph. The Infiniti M56 out accelerates all its competitors in this area.
Consumers have remarked in the past about the rough ride but with the new M56 Infiniti created a luxury ride even though the car was meant to handle. 20-inch rims, firm springs, and double-piston shocks. If this sounds like this car would be a bit roug, it's absolutely not, this car rides as smooth as butter. There are four drivin modes available with the M56. The Eco mode is there to conserve fuel, the Snow mode is perfect for driving through snow, the standard mode is regular all around drive setting, and finally The Sport mode improves power and throttle for a thrilling fast ride
If you decide to get the $3k technology package you get some real nice extras such as a like a lane departure prevention system, blind spot alert, and radar adaptive cruise control which when set keeps the same difference between you and the car ahead of you. There is also a $3800 touring package which adds luxury items such as an amazing Bose stereo system, wood accents in the cabin and a cabin air syste. The final optional package is the Big Daddy Sport Package. At $3600 this package includes four wheel steering, a sporty suspension, huge 20 inch rims with summer tires, and a trick sport steering wheel.
When it comes to speed and performance, this car definitely surpasses the rest. The 400 hp V-8 can rocket the M56 zero to 60 in just 4.7 secs and reaches a quarter ofa mile in just 13.4 which is only a tiny bit slower than the Ford Mustang GT. This luxury car is definitely not short on muscle and power.
Compared to other cars in the luxuyr market such as the Lexus GS460, Jaguar XF, and the Mercedes E550, The M56 has got them all beat by a mile. The only drawback is the M56 is also the most costly witha base price of around $58,000. It can out accelerate, out brake and out corner them all. Plus, the Infiniti M56 is the best on gas out of all it's competitors. Finally the M56 is a true contender in the competitive luxury market.
