A Look at the Internet and Even the T1 Connection

Many people alive today have spent what seems like an entire lifetime having some level of internet access. Because of this we sometimes take the web for granted. Let us take a much closer look at every connection starting with dial up, even the less talked about T1 connection. There are many different types of technology used to bring the internet to your home or workplace.

The first ever technology to bring the internet into a number of not only homes but workplaces was the old fashioned dial up connection. Because of the inferior nature of it's service, some of us would probably like to forget about it. During it's time however, it had a pretty good run. It allowed to surf the web, however it tied up our phone line in the process.

So what is this T1 connection I sometimes hear about? This is a very old technology that has been used for the internet for ages. The actual T lines themselves have been in existence for a number of years and provided the amount of band with needed for the world's first form of high speed connection. They used to be the fastest available but many broadband technologies have beaten them out.

Cable internet is one of the most common forms of broadband access being utilized in homes today. This is a service provided by your local cable company that used the actual cable lines to provide the band with needed for a very fast connection. Many people have a Cable modem that they use for their phone as well. This technology can sometimes slow down when many people use it at once.

DSL internet connections are just as common as the cable ones, when it comes to fast and reliable broadband within the home. This service is provided by the phone company and utilizes the same old phone lines. However it utilizes a special part of the phone line that is separated by little filters to hold a high band with type of connection signal. It does not interrupt the phone service.

In the past few years many people have been seeing a large number of fiber optic services that claim to offer the highest possible connection speeds. They are truthful in their claims as a fiber optic line is capable of holding the largest amount of band with. Some companies use these lines to deliver high quality television and phone service as well.

So we have taken a few moments to evaluate all type of internet connections even the rarely mentioned T1 connection services. It is important to note that T lines are typically only utilized by very large businesses or office buildings. They are not very common within the realms of home use. The other technologies mentioned are very common.
