New York City has some pretty amazing coffee. It was not always this way, however. In recent years, many small time artisan coffee shops have found their way to the Big Apple and are thriving with their bean business.
The following are some of the best places to get a cup of coffee in New York City right now.
Conveniently located right around the corner from me is arguably my favorite cup of joe in the whole city. It is none of the than Abraco. This place is absolutely tiny and serves up an incredible latte.
Located in the lobby of the Ace Hotel is Portland's own Stumptown Coffee. This place has so much character, from the old school 1930s feel with the baristas in berets. They will try the beans before handing them over, and if its not the perfect blend, they will throw it out until it is.
Another coffee shop that I absolutely love is Gimme! Coffee down in NoLiTa. This tiny area is one of my favorites in all of the city and Gimme! Coffee packs a punch for the whole neighborhood.
Also home to the East Village is 9th Street Espresso. The original was located on 9th Street between Avenue
C and Avenue D, but they have relocated to 10th street just a few blocks over. The strongest esresso I have tried in the city.
Down in TriBeCa is the wildly popular RBC Coffee Shop. This place was number one on my list of coffee shops to try, and I was finally able to knock it off the list last weekend.
As it stands, this is my list of the best of the best. But with so many to choose from these days, one wonders what other great places we will see over the next few years.
