The first thing that should be done before you start taking pictures is that you look through and read the manual that accompanies the camera. The next thing that you should do is practice holding the camera for when you start taking photographs. Hold the camera firmly in both hands and make sure that you have no fingers sticking in front of the lens impeding your shot. Get comfortable with handling and firmly holding the camera.
