A Critical Evaluation of MXI's Xocai Products and Business Model

MXI created Xocai (sho-sigh) and market it as a health promoting super antioxidant. It is a fact that over 1 billion people in the world eat chocolate. The average American consumes more than 12 pounds of chocolate each year. The Xocai philosophy is to replace the bad with the good.

Xocai is reported to increase energy levels, promote an enhanced sense of well-being and lasting weight loss. MXI's products incorporate the most powerful antioxidant form of chocolate, an all natural process cocoa powder in combination with the powerful antioxidant Acai Berry and other fruits. The MXI products are sweetened with Agave Nectar to achieve a low glycemic index. The products are packaged in beverage form, as nuggets, squares, cookies, and protein bars.

Xocai has a unique compensation plan which MXI calls the 'most generous' in the direct selling industry. For $35, you can become an Associate with one Business Center, you can purchase the products at wholesale prices, and you can place two associates below you. You also receive an associate training kit and have access to the back office for a year. However, you can opt to open more Business Centers for more volume capacity and additional discounts. At the bottom level, you must purchase at least $110 in product every four weeks, and the volume requirement increases with each advanced 'rank' you achieve. There are several ways to achieve bonuses, and these opportunities increase as you move up the ladder. The package becomes extremely lucrative for those who reach top levels.

In evaluating any opportunity you must consider the value of the products for your own life, not just in the context of a business. The product must be something you believe in enough to purchase even if it will not generate a profit. Additionally, you need to consider the viability of the product in the long run.

Criticisms of Xocai are that chocolate products are the craze these days, but the market is flooded with them and the competition is fierce. Seriously, how many people can get rich from a single product line, especially when there are so many choices? Unless Xocai is ready to branch out into new products and markets in the future, the long term viability of the company is in question.

I chose not to join the Xocai opportunity because I do not consume a lot of chocolate, and I did not want to try to market something I wasn't going to use myself. Also, I wanted to achieve financial success quickly, and that involves marketing a higher priced product. With a higher priced product, you are marketing to people who have financial resources and who are able to see the value of the products.

Regardless of the product you choose to market, you will find that the most successful marketers are those who are building relationships by helping others. To remain focused and motivated in any marketing endeavor, you need training and support from experienced and successful marketers to help you push through the doubts, fears, and regrets you inevitably encounter.
