A Couple of Good Reasons to Decrease Your Dependency on Your Public Power Company

Expert Author Ryan C Nielsen

Looking at the world and the way the past has built our present way of living is definitely thought provoking. People are "trained" to live a certain way and most never think to question it. We live month to month, going to work and paying our bills just like our parents and grandparents have their entire lives. One example of this is being dependent on these large utility companies. We pay them every month and think nothing of it. It is time to be more independent and to do something for ourselves for a change? How about "Going Green?" There are those who are actively doing this already, while others simply toss the idea around in their heads or do not think about it at all. Reasons for inaction in going green are widespread. People get busy with other things in their lives. Or, they are unaware of how to begin the process. Others have been discouraged because of the large unknown factors involved.

It is typical to get caught up in thinking about the negatives before thoroughly investigating the potential of creating your own energy. We ought to be a little more analytical. Lets take a look at the pros and cons register on how we can save money and stop paying these large Companies every month. It is fairly simple to live a little more independently by creating our own energy. Let us look at the positive side and consider the two biggest reasons why you will want to create your own energy.

1. You will save a ton of money. In this economy we all need to do this. Do you have a family, or are you on your own? Either way, you and your family need to come first. How about a college fund for the children, or a larger IRA for yourself? You can slash your power bill by as much as 80%. Add that up a year.

2. You will contribute to preserving Mother Earth. Living "Green" greatly helps our planet. The more people that strive to help our planet, the better off it will be. Think about how much oil is consumed each day. Mind boggling, is it not? Fossil fuels are going to be depleted someday. What effect will that have on our planet and how far down the road is it going to happen? I know what you are thinking. "How am I going to help our planet? I am just one family or household." You have to think in different terms. If a certain percentage of all the people in the world were to start living off the grid, the planet would be in a lot better shape. The results would be astounding..

When you evaluate the reasons for producing your own energy, I expect you will have to admit that a compelling case can be made for how you can begin to save money and help our planet at the same time. Our grandchildren have to stay while we go. What we do to the earth today affects our children tomorrow.
