8 AEG Safety Tips For Airsoft Game Players

Expert Author Suzie Sanchez

Airsoft games are stimulating war games which can exercise not only your bodies, but your mind as well. Airsoft game participants use realistic gears, like Automatic Electric Guns, to play. These Automatic Electric Guns, or AEG, closely resemble real guns in appearance, weight, handling, and operation that it is strongly discouraged to be sold to, or owned by, anyone under the age of eighteen. Even the airsoft game players themselves must be responsible enough to treat their AEG as if it is the real thing. There actually eight AEG safety tips that airsoft game players must seriously consider.

• Every AEG owner must treat the devices as if it were loaded weapons which must be handled extremely with care. Just like real loaded weapons, you must not allow it to lie unattended anywhere.

• You should not point your AEG, loaded or otherwise, at anybody or anything unless you are inside the game zone.

• Before you even attempt to shoot, make sure that you already have identified the target, including anything that lies behind it.

• Try to keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are aligned with the target and which now indicates that you are ready to fire.

• Whether at the game zone or at home, you must make sure that your guns will never be accessible to unauthorized or untrained individuals.

• Since an AEG closely resembles a real gun, it should be never left in plain view, particularly in public places, where untrained bystanders can mistake it for a real firearm. When transporting your AEG, put it inside a gun bag or carrying case and try not to leave it uncovered inside the vehicle where anybody can see it in plain view.

• During the actual airsoft game, do not forget to accord your eyes with a proper eye protection. The most ideal eye protection is a pair of fully sealed ballistic goggles which can prevent any AEG projectile from harming your eyes. Shop glasses, sunglasses, shooting glasses, and other non-ballistic goggles or anything that has a gap which might allow the projectile to penetrate behind the ear must be avoided at all times.

It is also important that you remember to always wear these ballistic safety goggles whenever you are inside the combat zone. Just wait until you are safely outside the combat zone, then you can remove your ballistic goggles.

• Whenever you are inside the safety zone, or when the airsoft game is declared as over by the game master, turn the safety lever of your AEG to "ON" position and immediately remove the magazine. This would prevent any accidental misfiring which can cause potential injuries.

Mastering these safety tips would keep untoward incidents out of every airsoft game. This way, you would be helping making every airsoft game safe and fun for everyone.
