It seems that the worm has turned on loose credit and low rate mortgages to the point where a huge amount of the population are faced with the need to tighten the purse strings and curb the impulse expenditure. Now this in itself is not hard to do with all the information available plus some great formulated plans that are easy to follow such as Debt on Autopilot which uses the Law of Attraction rules to put debt payments to the back of your mind so you can focus on wealth and prosperity instead.

So with all the information available and plans to follow we need to take a closer look at why more people do not opt into this advice or follow these plans to debt freedom.Maybe the real reason behind the defiance to carry on regardless until the debt collectors are calling is more to do with saving face than we previously thought. Is it really so hard to delay short term gratification in favour of long term ultimate salvation?

It would seem that peer pressure and the constant need to keep up appearances in today's society is simply too much to lose if it means not being able to wear Dolce and Gabbana or Gucci for a year or so in favour of mountains of credit card debt instead.

So here are the definitive 7 rules to get out of debt and still stay popular with your friends.

    1. Make sure the designer label on the jeans is showing, but shop for the top and accessories at a high street store or even a supermarket as they all carry great ranges these days.

    2. Explain that you are in a 3 year contract for your cell phone because it comes with 1000 free texts every day.

    3. Insist that you only ever create your own home made cards because they are so much more personal and mean so much more.

    4. Order any alcoholic drink mixed with soda at a bar or restaurant because it usually comes free and reduces the cost of the drink by half.

    5. Learn how to cook great pasta dishes and have friends round for a movie night all they have to bring is themselves and dessert. Not only is pasta delicious when bought in bulk it is really inexpensive.

    6. Go vintage with some of your latest looks and shop in charity and seconds shops for key items, not only will you assemble a totally individual look to rival Kate Moss, you will save yourself oodles of cash.

    7. Learn how to get the same look as your favourite celebrity but at a fraction of the cost. You can always cut out the label in the clothes and wear it with pride, knowing you have the hottest look on the planet but you have not reached for your credit card once.

As with anything that is worth doing well, between mail order, the supermarkets and high street stores anyone can save bundles of money without losing face and switch over indulgence spending surpluses to an automatic debt repayment program. If you simply carried on making these switches for just a few years most people would be free to experience a whole new way of life.

Diane Cossie dons her money saving expert cape once more as she shows you ways to not only blast your way through credit card debt in super fast time, but become mortgage free if that is your goal.
