Picture the scene. You have been looking forward to your party, planning it for weeks, then the disappointment for terrible entertainment. If you follow these simple steps it should never happen to you.

1. An entertainer with no experience. Just because someone has a flashy website, it doesn't necessary mean that they are a great entertainer, make sure that you check there experience

2. You end up with a massive bill you didn't expect! Remember that all entertainers should carry public liability insurance. Especially hypnotists. In the UK it is mandatory for a stage hypnotist to carry insurance.

3. Is the entertainer asking you the right questions? A good entertainer should be asking you about the venue, what kind of entertainment you have had before. A good entertainer will not want to play to an audience that they are unsuitable for. A blue comedian will not want to play to a church group!

4. Have you checked the contract? Remember that if you sign to play for 1st class air travel from Barbados then you have to pay for it!

5. Will you entertainer let you check their references? Remember that not everyone is as honest as you or I, just because they say they have played for a massive corporation, it doesn't necessity mean they have.

6. Are you paying to much? One company once payed a third more than my standard fee because they booked me from an agent!

7. Do you like the person? Make sure that you speak to the entertainer. If they cant be bothered to chat on the phone, chances are they will not be very friendly at the venue.
