7 Good Reasons to Become Vegetarian

If you are considering living a vegetarian lifestyle but are not quite convinced it's a good idea yet, read on. Hopefully some of the points here will help you make up your mind.

1. Fat is a killer - Fact! Cutting meat out of your diet is the best and easiest way to decrease your risk of getting cancer or having a heart attack.

2. Food poisoning, E-coli. Thousands of cases are reported every year. Most of these are causes by eating badly prepared or infected meat.

3. Meat contains not one vitamin, protein or mineral that can't be gained safely and simply by sticking to a vegetarian diet.

4. Certain processed foods such as hot dogs or breakfast sausage can contain intestines that have been ground up to "bulk up" the meat content. Do you really want to eat pig intestines?

5. Other "meat products" can contain the tails, heads, feet and rectums of dead animals.

6. Every day in America alone 500,000 animals are killed for food. They are herded en masse into slaughter houses where their last minutes are filled with terror, misery and pain.

7. Half of the world's rainforest areas have been cleared to make way for grazing land for the cattle that ultimately become hamburgers. This causes an increase of the green house effect by around 20% and nearly 1000 species of animal and other wildlife become extinct every year. All this for a hamburger! If America ate just 10% less meat a year this could all be saved.

If you are concerned about your health, your family's health or the state of the world in general, then becoming a vegetarian

may be the way ahead for you. Give it a try, you can't do yourself any harm and you may just like it!! Visit http://www.myvegetarianlife.co.uk for more information.
