To start generating targeted traffic you do not just sit there and wait for it to come. Surely there are ways to start driving it towards your site now. You may ask, in how many ways I can generate free traffic to my site? Who knows but there are some methods that you can start applying them now. Hopefully there are some methods below that you have not implemented or heard of them before.
1. Submit to search engines
Don't wait for search engines to find your site. Always submit it to them. There is a site freewebsubmission.com where it will submit your site to 20 search engines. But you will have to manually submit your site to Google.
2. Directories.
Search for niche directories on the topic of your site. You can do that by typing in "directory + your niche" on google. You can also find general directories where you can submit your site for free. The main value of directories is not traffic but the links you get from them that will help your ranking.
3. Forums
Forums are another great supply for traffic to your site. Offer sound advice and from an expert point view when participating on forums. You can drive traffic by putting a link to your site in the signature. To get repeated traffic, link to your ezine or a free e course.
4. Free classifieds
There are several places where you can advertise for free although you can find quite a few sites that offer no value. You have to test until you find those classified sites that deliver the most.
5. Exchange Links
By exchanging links with other sites you will get free targeted traffic in two ways. Direct traffic from the site you are linking from and as well search engine traffic as these links will help you to rank higher.
6. Give testimonials
Have you lately enjoyed an e-book or another info product? Contact the author and let him know that you are willing to offer a testimonial about his product. Ask them if they let you leave a link to your site under your name. Remember that good testimonials are beneficial for both parties.
7. Write articles
