6 Things That a Good Online Guitar Course Should Provide
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

There are a lot of different online guitar courses offered over the internet, and it's great to know that there are instructors out there willing to help. If a guitarist becomes a professional that can move on to better things, it's nice to think that they're willing to help others along the way.

However, not every instructor and guitar lesson offered from the internet is a reliable source to learn the instrument. Here are 6 very important aspects that every good online guitar course should provide for their students.

1. You need an instructor who knows the path.

A good guitar instructor knows exactly where their students should begin and how long it will take them to reach the end. If you come across a course with too many options and it appears that there's no direction, you might be looking at a navigator without a map.

2. Video tutorials should be everywhere.

If you have the fortunate circumstance to learn a good online guitar course from an experienced instructor, they should be providing you with plenty of video tutorials. Honestly, you really can't get the full effect of a course unless there are some real moving visuals to go by.

3. There should be plenty of charts and diagrams to view.

The next best thing to videos in your guitar lessons would be charts and diagrams of an actual guitar. With a good course, you should be seeing plenty of pictures that show you fingerings or markings of where to place your fingers on the fret board.

4. You'll have audio tracks to play along with.

Sometimes they're referred to as jam tracks, but if you find a guitar course that includes them, then you probably have a good one. Jamorama, Jamplay, and Lean and Master Guitar are three popular courses that all provide jam tracks so you feel like you're playing along with real musicians.

5. The course covers a variety of styles and genres.

You can't learn the guitar and expect to play in the same genre or style forever. You'll just get bored and that's understandable. That's why a good online guitar course should provide you with the variety you need to diversify your skills in a positive way.

6. If you're beginning or advanced, you should be covered.

An experienced guitar instructor should know how to teach someone who knows nothing and how to guide someone who knows a ton. When you see courses that only offer so much support and instruction, you might not get all the help that you're paying for.

Online guitar courses are just about everywhere you turn when you look for only a few minutes, but not all of them are going to deliver what they promise. Remember to go after the courses with these criteria and you can consider your money well-spent.
