This Christmas many parents are looking for activities that they can do with their kids. This is because while presents come and go, the time that they actually spend with spouses and children is irreplaceable. This value will likely come to the forefront of the 2009 Holidays with people focusing less on what they can buy but more on those near and dear to them. If you are looking for some ideas for holiday fun , here are some great options to help you start.

Gift giving games are always a source of great fun and good times on Christmas Day. The rules vary but the point is that no one knows exactly what they will get. One version of the gift giving game is quite popular and is called Secret Santa. Everyone before Christmas has to buy a gift, then each person on Christmas Day has the opportunity to pick a gift. The fun is trying to get the best present or at least not getting a bad one. Another interesting gift giving game is Naughty or Nice. The mechanics are similar, but you actually put in prank gifts like feathers, marbles, or the dreaded lump of coal. The goal is to avoid getting these gifts because they would prove that you were not as well behaved as you thought you were. This is a great activity that will be fun for the entire family.

A great activity is to build a gingerbread house. You essential you use baked gingerbread cookie pieces, candy, and frosting to make the house. Your children will have fun making it then eating it. Of course make sure that they don't eat too much. If the gingerbread idea is to complicated to do, have your younger children decorate sugar cookies with icing. You can make it even more fun by having the children place their creations on a plate with milk for when Santa stops by.

You can also make Christmas eve a game night. Too often members of a family will be busy with work, school, and their own individual interests and activities to do a game. However Christmas day is a time when everyone can set aside their obligations and have the time to play a game. Some popular choices are Monopoly, Scrabble, Life, or Clue. The fun of playing with family during the holidays is a great memory to have. Of course try to avoid poor sportsmanship or overzealous competition from ruining a game.

The traditional activities are still relevant even today. They are simple, but timeless, like singing Chirstmas Carols, watching a Holiday special on TV. It can also be preparing snacks for Santa or decorating a Tree. All of these are older holiday traditions that can still be enjoyed by all.

For younger kids, help them continue to believe in Santa. One great idea is to have Santa Clause leave notes leading to the presents and special letters from Santa left right with the actual gifts. If you want to have authentic looking letters you can find services online that can produce them for you. Of course make sure to do all the customary things like eat the milk and cookies and fill the stockings with small toys and candy. The moment will be unforgettable for your kids.

Create magic in your child's eyes with our letters from Santa. EZSantaLetters.com offers fully personalized Santa letters and 15 pre-written Santa Letters. All letters are postmarked from the North Pole and will definitely put a smile on your child's face.
