With thousands of visitors each day and over £40 million worth of transactions happening everyday you will always find a transaction that went wrong. To avoid this happening to you and being scammed of your hard earned cash, here are 4 ways to instantly spot a scam on eBay:
1. Always check out the seller's feedback. If the seller has fewer than 97% feedback then defiantly check out the seller's feedback. If he has negative feedback from a buyer within the past 2 weeks, saying something on the lines of "item not received" then go some where else to buy your item.
2. If you see a valuable item being sold at a ridiculous low price and it looks too good to be true, it probably it is. So avoid it. However you could ask the seller very precise questions about the item. If he avoids the questions and answers your questions in a wish-washy way then avoid his item for sale, and buy from another buyer.
3. If you see a seller selling lots of multiple items and there not a business seller, this can happen a lot around Christmas time. Then be wary of the seller as this could be a sign of a scam.
4. A picture does tell a thousand words, so see if a picture is provided and it fits the description. If it doesn't then avoid buying the item. If there is no picture and the description is "too good to be true" then it probably is, so avoid the seller.
Above all the best thing to do is to go with your gut instinct, if the seller seems shady then buy the item from another seller.
