4 Ways to Bring a Positive Change in Your Organizational Culture

Expert Author Mike Krutza

Your organizational culture is what defines your commercial establishment and it's more important than you think. This is what creates an impression to the outside world about what your business is like and this is what shapes each and every new employee or even client that walks into your office. Hence, it is very important that you always keep track of what your organizational culture is being perceived as, and you should make it an important point on your agenda to bring about positive changes in it.

Here are four important ways in which you can bring about positive changes in your organizational culture.

1. However superior you may think you are in your commercial organization, you should always make it a point to explain your position. You need to always have a logical explanation for the steps you are taking or making your employees take. This will surely flow down to your subordinates as well. That is, if you take the effort of explaining your action to your subordinates, they will also take the sane pains to explain things to their subordinates. Consequently, your organization will be known for its clarity of functioning and conviction.

2. Always make sure that you have appointed the right people for every job. There might be various things that your establishment is doing and you need many people to fulfill every responsibility. The best way to do that is to give everyone jobs that match their potentials. Never underuse or overuse people.

3. Your establishment will have its usual share of resisters. These are the detractors, the critics, the insolent people, the lazy employees and such other persons who don't prove to be assets to the company. Moreover, there is always the likelihood of these negative elements influencing other people and jeopardizing the entire organizational culture you have built up. You need to make sure that you weed out such resisters when there is still time.

4. The fourth and most important thing is to be consistent. Your organizational culture cannot be changed in a day. It is done over time. If you want to make a better culture, you have to always dedicate yourself to eliminating the negatives and enhancing the positives. Always keep an eye on what your competitors are up to and try to outdo them at every opportunity.

These are the main ways in which you can improve upon your organizational culture. A consistent and informed approach will take you where you want to go sooner than you think it will happen.
