Is home business right for you? Or rather, are you right for home-based business? Or, do you and home-based business go hand in hand? Whichever way one may put the question, the fact remains that home-based business is not everybody's cup of tea. Here are a few guidelines:

1) Before venturing out on anything new, you need to ask yourself what you are exactly aiming at, what is it that motivates you, that eggs you on to keep at it day in and day out. Many have left their lucrative day jobs to take to home-based business because their set of motivating factors included finding time for their kids at home, getting the freedom to do what they wanted to whenever they wanted to, finding the time to travel round the world, while at the same time not letting their work suffer in any way...

2) That thing about setting your home business on autopilot, leaving you free to venture out anywhere, anytime, does sound like a great idea, an enticing one at that, but like other genres of business, establishing a home-based business does take some doing, though it is a fact that the advent of Internet means you can establish a rock-solid home-based business in a reasonably short period.

3) While being at it, your home-based business, you may even have to be prepared for bouts of loneliness you may feel when sitting on the computer. It's all a matter of choices you have to make. In fact, consistency is a watchword-- Many people started off by devoting an hour or less everyday to their home business alongside their job, and went on to give up their day job with aplomb in a few months time! So, a key may lie in not giving up your day job till you are more than sure your home business is giving you income many times over what that job is fetching you.

4) Another key, often overlooked, is not getting tempted by every other business opportunity or money-making program out there. The apparently cliched quote, "A rolling stone gathers no moss" still holds true, you see!
