4 Helpful Tips For Doing a Golf Downswing
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

You can't completely master any sport without the right posture. Although these postures differ from sport-to-sport, in mastering a sport you'll need to master these particular poses. Not only will your game get a boost, but you'll feel healthier too. Here are some helpful tips for perfecting your golf downswing.

1. Concentrate on shifting your weight.

Why is this action important? If you can master this technique then you've basically mastered the downward stroke. You need to move your weight from your body's left side, to the right side. That will increase how fast the club head strikes the ball-and thus increase how far you can hit the ball. You do this by shifting the arch of the swing forward.

2. Get power from either your arms or hips.

These are the two primary methods for the golf downswing. There are golfers who get their down-swing's power from their hips, while others get the "oomph" from their arms. You'll need to do some testing to determine which method feels best for you.

3. Move your left knee away from your right knee.

This motion is crucial when shifting from your back-swing to your down-swing. One argument among golfers is that concentrating on separating your left knee from your right knee is what steers the club so it contacts the ball correctly. Make sure to separate the left knee as the weight moves from your right foot to the left one.

4. Keep your shoulders loose as a goose.

When doing your down-swing, this is an important step. By keeping your shoulders loose, they'll flow with the swing of the club. However, your swinging will be less smooth if you use your shoulders to guide the swing.

Using these golf downswing tips along with golfing stretches, will help you to swing your way to victory on the greens!
