3 Smart Tips for Snacking Healthy

1. Be Prepared When you are not home, be prepared to face your hunger. Pack up mini snack baggies with some healthy foods. Fruit, sliced veggies, nuts, seeds, whole wheat crackers, low fat cheese cubes. Those will help you to stay on track with your healthy eating plan while satisfying your cravings.

2. Be Creative If you let your food bore you, then you will not be able to resist non-diet-friendly goodies. Why not be creative. Whip up an apple and some yogurt into a smoothie and snack on it; make a tasty egg-white omelet with lots of veggies for lunch; have fun with berries and top a salad with them. Eat breakfast foods for lunch, lunch foods for breakfast, or create your own mouthwatering recipes. Keep it fun and unexpected and you will be glad to stick to a healthy eating plan.

3. Satisfy Cravings Before eating a snack, always keep in mind what food you are most in the mood for at that moment. Are you craving for something soft, sweet, salty...? If you are craving for salty foods, you won't go for a banana. If you prefer something crunchy, the same banana won't do the trick either. Do you want to eat sitting at the table or standing up? Recognizing these things can help you in making eating your snacks in a much more satisfactory manner.
