3 Secrets on How to Increase and Have Lightening Punching Speed

Have you ever had nightmares where you were fighting or sparring with someone, but your punches couldn't connect your opponent because your punches were too slow? Or have you just been in a recent fight or sparring match, and found out that your punches were as weak and slow as a limp fish? If so, then here are three secrets to automatically increase your punching speed.

1. Using the simple physics formulas that speed equals distance over time, you can increase the speed of your punches. You do this by decreasing the distance of where your punch is going to hit. That is, you have to practice punching by following a straight line to your target of hit. If you have to hit around an object like a fist guard, then hit around the guard as straight as possible.

2. Build up your shoulder blade muscles. Punches are initiated first by your shoulders and then down to your elbows, forearms and then fist. If you want to punch fast, your have to make sure your shoulders are firing very quickly so that your fist can follow up fast. A simple exercise to help speed up the firing of your shoulder muscles is doing pushups as fast as possible in 3 minutes. If you keep doing this as many repetitions as possible, you will find out that your punches will be lightening fast.

3. Do you know why Muhammed Ali had blistering fast punches? He had blistering fast punches because he was fast on his fist. That's right, if you have fast feet, your punches will move faster at the same time. So a good exercise to make your feet fast is to do a lot of skipping and sprinting. The more you do it, the faster your punches will be.
