Registering

The first step in planning will be, having the mother-to-be register at a store that carries her favorite items she wants/needs.

Steps to registering:

• Find your favorite store
• Speak to a sales associate about registering
• Go through the store and add items to your wish list
• Most importantly, have fun!
• Gift ideas for the upcoming baby can usually be found on the baby registry.

The next step in your planning process will be the actual planning. Usually the first step in this process will hinge on knowing whether the mother-to-be knows the sex of the baby. If the mother-to-be knows the sex of the baby, the planning process will be much more fun! There are a few key areas to focus on: the color theme, invitations, and a comfortable chair for the mom!

Color Theme

The color theme typically hinges on whether the mother is having a boy, girl, Pink is generally used for a baby girl, blue is generally used for a baby boy, yellow, and light green are typically used for parties where the sex of the baby is not known. To save time a lot of planners choose to buy already made decorations for the shower. To save money, you can make the decorations yourself - it will add a touch of personality! There are certain themes that can tie in to many colors such as a safari theme or even Winnie the Pooh.

Invitations

Typically baby shower invitations go with the color theme, but its not required. Homemade invitations save money, yet store made invites definitely save time! Most store made invites come with matching thank you cards as well.
