3 Fondue Recipes You'll Love

When it comes to fondue there are three basic recipes that you need to try. Since fondue came back in style there have been all kinds of new interesting recipes that are a fusion of many different cultures and ingredients. But if you want to try traditional fondue, the way it's been made for many years, here are three fondue recipes that you will love.  

Classic Cheese Fondue

1/2 pound Emnenthaler Cheese (shredded)
1/2 pound Gruyeye (shredded)
1 clove Garlic
2 cups Dry White Wine
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 tablespoons Flour
3 tbs Kirsch
1/4 teaspoon White Pepper
Nutmeg and/or Paprika to taste

In a bowl add the flour to the cheeses and toss to coat evenly

Rub the inside of the fondue pot with the garlic clove and add clove to pot

Heat up the White Wine & Lemon Juice - do not boil

Reduce heat to low and slowly add cheese while stirring

Slowly add remainder of ingredients while stirring

If fondue is too loose add more cheese

If fondue is too stiff add more wine

To Dip: Crusty bread cut into bite-sized cubes, Vegetables - Broccoli, Cauliflower, Bell Peppers, etc.

Basic Hot Oil Fondue (Bourguignonne)

Peanut Oil (enough to fill your fondue pot 1/2 way)

Heat oil to 325-350 degrees in a stainless steel or cast iron fondue pot 

Spear dipping ingredients with fondue fork and slowly dunk into hot oil for 1 to 3 minutes

Serve with at least three dipping sauces (BBQ, Asian, Bearnaise Sauce, Horseradish Sauce, etc)

To Dip: Meat cut into cubes about 3/4" (beef, pork, chicken, etc)

Basic Chocolate Fondue

8 oz Premium Chocolate (chopped)
1 cup Whipping Cream
2 teaspoon Grand Marnier (optional)

Over low flame, heat Cream until warm - do not boil

Slowly add chocolate while stirring

Mixture will become smooth

Stir in liqueur

To Dip: Strawberries, Banannas, Apple Slices, Pound Cake, Angel Food Cake, Pretzels, Pineapple Chunks, Marshmallows, Potato Chips and anything else. Everything tastes great dunked in chocolate.
