Once you experience a breakup nothing is more important than fixing a broken heart. The longer you drag those sad feelings out, the harder it is on you. Dating and relationships between a man and a woman are hard. Sometimes it seems like nothing is working. Why do most relationships fail? Usually one person wants the other more and comes off as needy and controlling. This constant fear of losing the one you love triggers reactions in the other person.

They just feel the need to get away. So how do you work on fixing a broken heart:

1. Stay busy
It is OK to take a time out and let your feelings smooth out for a couple of weeks. That is perfectly normal but the sooner you get out of the house and start being social and having some fun the better. If you stay busy, you don't have time to sit around and feel bad. Start doing fun things and avoid being alone too much of the time.

2. Do new things
A change in scenery and experiencing new things will bring a freshness back into your life. You quickly realize that you can be perfectly fine without your ex. Yes you will probably have feelings for 6 months but you can go on with your life. Do some of the things you have always wanted to do but never had time for. After a breakup, use this as a fresh start to evaluate the past and where you want to go in the future. Set some new goals.

3. Don't be a hermit
It is very common for people to pull back into a shell and sit around doing nothing but thinking about how bad things are. Only you can choose to think positive and start having fun again. As soon as possible, start getting out and be social again. You will be amazed at how soon you will meet new people if you just get out of the house and go places. Get yourself invited to some parties and just start having a good time.

So what if after all this you still ache for your ex and really want to get a second chance. Well depending on how you broke up and why you split, there is always that chance that with a bit of time you can get back together. A key is to remember the harder you try the less chance of success. So take time and don't chase them. Just start living life again and you instantly become more attractive.

No one wants to relive the bad past, so you have to come across as a changed person who learned a lesson. The happier you are and more fun you are to be around the more they will want to be around you.
