3 Critical Reasons For List Building

List Building is the "secret" that separates the home business newbie, from the savvy home based entrepreneur. Critical but subtle is the art of list building and many people ignore it and perish from the industry in around 120 days.

There are 3 Key Reasons Why List Building is Critical

1. The money is in the list.

Most people get hyped into joining a "make money from home" program and right away get "trained" to go out and pitch friends, family and strangers at the mall to "get in" their deal. Then when that fails, then get "trained" to spend money on cold leads, call cold leads with a script and jam them into the company replicated website.

Futile. I know from personal experience. But here's where this Bull Fight gets really painful. It's only AFTER you've blown TONS of TIME and MONEY at this amateur hour showcase of "I'm so dumb & dumber" that you realize that all you did by running traffic into your company's site is build THEIR LIST.

There are people at that company who know how to work a list and as all top producers in any sales endeavor have taught for years: "The money is in the list!"

When you drop out of that program (due to lack of sales in 4 weeks), you will leave and join some other hyped up money game, but your old company will retain the prospects you paid for and which you (thank's sucker!) deposited in their prospect database. They will keep working those leads and will make money in 7 different ways off of that list you paid to build them (sorry, mom).

You need to be building your own list because it is a business ASSET that you can take wherever you go and generate repeat sales from it multiple times as you leverage the relationship that you build by communicating with the people on your list consistently.

2. It's not about hitting a home run ONE TIME with advertising.

When you learn the fine art of list building you also learn how to leverage that list by building up relationships of trust with the prospects in the list. You do this by offering relevant and educational information and also by creating community by talking (huh - like calling them?) with those people and finding out more about how you can serve them.

You can then offer them different and complimentary products and services that can help them get closer to THEIR goals. You are the helpful resource. You're there to offer tips, answer your phone and help them with their questions. Some will join your main program, most won't. But some will buy information products and other resources from you. That is how you generate and leverage MULTIPLE sales from the same people through time.

3. One Day You'll Wake Up and Realize You're Allowed To Build MULTIPLE Income Streams...

That's right. One day you will wake up and realize it's legal for you to get rich. You'll also find out that it's NOT against any law to own and offer different programs, products and services and to make LOTS of money by offering those to your list.

You can have big ticket, high commission, fat programs for the "high roller" crowd and you can also offer low ticket fast moving programs that more of the masses can find accessible. You can also offer residual memberships and anything else you think your list of subscribers will find interesting. It's your world "Tony Montana!"

By building your list of targeted prospects and by delivering relevant information, free training tips and being there to help them with any questions, you will build up rapport and a level of trust over time that you can then turn into additional income streams and repeat sales. This is leverage and optimization.

List building is the life blood of your business. You should focus most of your business time on testing, tweaking and refining ways in which to fill your list pipeline with fresh targeted prospects so that you can build up this "most valuable" asset and leverage it in the future. You can build ANY home based program with relative ease once you get comfortable with the art and science of list building. It takes some training and study. Not everyone knows how to do it well.
